'PES – Before the Image: Fragmented Synchrony

Structural Origin Note

The work "PES – Before the Image: Fragmented Synchrony" marks a decisive transition in the development of ⁹

Unlike the previous works of Cycle I, this painting is not based on commercially prepared painting media. It is the first large-scale work executed through the complete PES Material Systems framework.

For the first time, the painting process integrates:

PES Terre Vivante — Emotional Pigments

PES Valencia Gesso — Verte Nicosia

PES Organic Tempera System

PES Valencia Medium — Citrus Resin System

PES Mediterranean Amber — Resin Gloss / Satin / Matte Systems

The image therefore functions not only as an artwork but also as a material field of experimentation where pigments, emulsions, resins and temporal processes interact as components of a unified emotional structure.

The title "Before the Image" refers to the state preceding representation.

The painting does not describe an object, a landscape or a narrative.

It investigates the moment when material organization becomes perceptible as image.

Within the PES framework this condition is defined as Fragmented Synchrony: the coexistence of multiple emotional and material states occurring simultaneously within a single visual field.

This work constitutes the first operational realization of PES Material Systems


 

and therefore represents a structural point of origin for the next phase of the project.

Painting is constructed through interactions between pigments, binders, resins, oils, tempera systems, and support surfaces.
